Sebelum masuk ke konfigurasi samba pastikan dulu apakah aplikasi samba sudah terinstall:

[bejo@PrintServer ~]$ sudo rpm -qa | grep samba
samba-common-3.0.28-0.el4.9
samba-3.0.28-0.el4.9
system-config-samba-1.2.21-1.el4.1
samba-client-3.0.28-0.el4.9

Apabila installer diatas belum ditemukan, silahkan install dahulu sambanya:

[bejo@PrintServer ~]$ yum -y install samba

Dan file konfigurasi samba berada di /etc/samba/smb.conf untuk mengeditnya kita bisa gunakan editor favorit masing-masing kebetulan saya menggunakan vi dan gunakan parameter seperlunya saja.

[bejo@PrintServer ~]$ sudo vi /etc/samba/smb.conf

    realm = intranet.corp
    server string = Print Server by IT Dept.

Konfigurasi diatas telah cukup untuk menjadikan samba sebagai sharing printer, dan mengijinkan anonymous untuk melakukan printing. Dan untuk penjelasan detail mengenai parameter-parameter diatas sabar ye....
