Microsoft Windows: Network is not present or is not started

I had the same problem on several of my work pc's. Heres what I did to fix it.

1. log in as admin
2. Start and set to automatic the following services under administrative tools. TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper, Workstation, and Server

Let me know if this works for you. I would love to punch wanderer in the face for making such a usless comment.
